The Cambria Scarecrow Festival

This festival started rather small, but has since grown into a large community event that features hundreds of scarecrows. The scarecrows are built by local business owners and community members with a variety of materials. It draws visitors from all over the country to visit and is an event that you definitely don’t want to miss out on this fall season.

The festival runs until the 31st of October, so plan a date to visit now. You can read and learn more about the CSF at their website here: Cambria Scarecrow Festival

Monarch Butterfly Migration

It’s a little known fact that Monarchs migrate every fall and winter, but did you know you can watch the migration from Pismo Beach? The Monarch Butterfly Grove in Pismo Beach opens every late-October to late-February every year, and your family can watch thousands of Monarch butterflies in one of their winter roosts.

The Farms of SLO

There are many farms to visit in SLO county this fall, but here’s one of our favorites that cannot be missed.

Brookshire farms is a memory for many children who grew up in SLO. The farm is open for fall, and even though they don’t have the large corn maze this year, there are still many family-friendly activities like the hay climb, hay rides, and duck races that kids and parents will enjoy.

We also recommend purchasing the farm fresh eggs from them, too. Admission is $10 on the weekends and $8 on weekdays.
